Welcome to Campus Ministry, Sydney

Campus Ministry at The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Sydney Campus supports the Objects and Mission of the University and the Church of Sydney by seeking to create a context of Catholic faith and values within which students learn and the University community is formed and developed.

The Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae in reference to the pastoral ministry of a Catholic university says:

“Pastoral ministry is that activity of the University which offers the members of the university community an opportunity to integrate religious and moral principles with their academic study and non-academic activities, thus integrating faith with life.” [ECE, n. 38]

The Campus Ministry team seeks to facilitate this integration of ‘faith with life’ through opportunities where students and staff can experience and express their faith through a variety of liturgies, structured religious education opportunities, practical service experiences, retreats, the Newman Programme for student leadership, counselling, and continuing the long history of University and Church involvement in fostering the arts and culture. Campus Ministry supports the students and staff of Notre Dame in their efforts to build a Christian faith community.
