CENTRAL LOCATION
Broome is easily accessible by bicycle. Its many bike paths, including one that meanders past the University entrance gates, means the town centre, tranquil Roebuck Bay or the magical Indian Ocean are all accessible within a matter of minutes.
The Broome Campus is situated on the local public transport route and taxis provide another efficient and cheap alternative.
SERENE GROUNDS
Walking through the Broome Campus grounds is like walking through a national park.
Tropical birds dance in the branches of native trees, river stone tables are set in amongst lush ferns to allow for a unique studying atmosphere.
And as the wet season approaches the flowers on the frangipani trees open and the fruit on the mango trees begins to ripen.
STUDENT VILLAGE
The Broome Campus prides itself on providing a personal, friendly atmosphere and the Student Village is designed to encourage that feeling of community.
Each house has a verandah where students can enjoy, not only the tropical climate, but the pleasant surrounds of the established gardens.
Each bedroom has an area to study, its own private ensuite and a central kitchen and living area.
Laundry facilities are also available on campus.
STUDENT HOSTEL
The Hostel provides short-term accommodation for students who are attending short ‘block study’ programs.
Capable of accommodating 40 people each room is air conditioned and has a fridge, bedside cabinet, wardrobe and study bench. Bedding is also provided.
The Hostel caters for single, twin and triple rooms and is ideal for one to three weeks of block study, ‘unit intensives’ or group seminars.
Open 24 hours a day the Hostel kitchen is self catering, but continental breakfasts and dinners are available on request.
The Campus prides itself on providing a high level of pastoral care.
STUDENT LIFE CENTRE
The Student Life Centre is open until midnight and offers students a place to come and relax before and after classes.
Home to the students famous pancake mornings the SLC facilities includes full kitchen services, a lounge, television and table tennis table which always proves popular.
An alternative outdoor recreation area in the hostel is also available for use and includes a pool table and television.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Broome Campus Information Technology Department provides a range of high quality services.
Students have access to computers in the library and after hours access in the L7 computer laboratory. All areas have access to laser printing, scanners, digital cameras and CD/DVD burners.
All students are given a Notre Dame email account. This allows access to the Student Portal and network services. Broome Campus uses Blackboard for the online delivery of their units. This is accessible via the Student Portal. All computers have a wide range of software supporting student studies.
